On my second attempt, I tried some Yupo paper, I really liked the way the paper reacted, it didn’t bleed the same as the first try, but I think I liked how it worked better. Yupo is a synthetic paper, it’s almost like painting on film, so you can push the paint around a little more and it mixes a in different ways, then I noticed on regular water color paper. 

For my third attempt, I repeated the second technique, and tried sprinkling salt on the paint before it was dry.

Fun fact: I think I’ve read that Skeletor is actually he-man’s uncle. Duh duh duh

The “C” almost became just a great big open mouth. That seems a little too easy, not that this is much more of a conceptual challenge, but it seemed a little creepier this way.

See, I love lettering, and type, I also love drawing, illustrating and what not. Usually, when my drawing skills are peaking, my more typography/design skills tend to wane, and then vice versa. SOOOoooo, I’m thinking if I combine the two, I’ll be able to work up both skills at the same time.  I’m gonna spend my lunch drawing up each letter of the alphabet monstered up*. So there ya go, and here ya are. number 1, letter “A”

*One caveat however, I have a daughter due to be born any second now, so if that happens there may be a slight delay. in that case, you’ll see photos of a new born. Not the same I know, but slightly scarier than monsters.

Not desert hot, because in desert hot, you can sweat, and the sweat evaporates creating a wonderful cooling effect. In this cruel joke of a weather phenomenon when you sweat, the sweat doesn’t evaporate. Its stays there, creating a slightly sticky more muggy feeling. On the plus side, in 6 months we’ll have 5 feet of snow, and daytimes highs of -30°.

So here it is my last piece of the pledge. It’s darker than I normally do, but I have been assured by my standards and practices board (Jay and Jessica) that is funny. So if you take issue with it, I will forward your concerns on to them.
