I draw/doodle/sketch all the time, always have and likely always will.the overwhelmingly vast majority of those sketches never go anywhere beyond that. It’s sad really, I’m sure I’ve got some potentially really fun ideas hidden in some moleskine, buried in a box in my basement. I’ve too often let time constraints or new ideas stop any of these idea from going any further. So when I came across over the 30 days of creativity pledge on twitter, I signed right up. After 30 days of making an effort to come up with and create something creative once a day for 30 days, ten things I’ve learned in the last 30 days are:
You can get an astounding amount done in an hour, if you’ve got a clear picture in your head of what the final outcome will look like.
- An hour is never enough to make you feel like you’ve finished anything
- Small children fail to recognize the importance of a pledge to create something everyday for 30 days made on twitter
- Small children and old people don’t get twitter
- That daily practice, even in small amounts, will yield big results
- Having creative ideas isn’t the tough part, choosing and making them a reality is
- Making a pledge to a bunch of strangers to do something, can be a bigger motivation than one made to yourself
- Painting in photoshop is easy, almost too easy
- Superheroes do not need necks, unless it’s a woman.
- That the only keeping me from being creative is myself.
